About this deal

Apparently radar originally came to the attention of the British government after they put out a request for proposals for directed-energy weapons. Paranoia has laser pistols and rifles, energy pistols, blasters, stun guns, and plasma generators. Lasers are actually more common than projectile guns, and so reflec (shiny plastic) armor is more common than kevlar. The designer of the Ray Gun, Jesse Snyder, was almost fired by Treyarch when he put the Ray Gun as an easter egg in the level "Little Resistance" without consulting other developers [2]. Optics: ACOG Scope ( Swarovski Scope) · EOTech Sight · Hybrid Optic · Infrared Scope · Iron Sight · Low Power Scope · Millimeter Scanner · Red Dot Sight · Reflex Sight · Scope · Sniper Scope · Target Finder · Variable Zoom

The Ray Gun was originally customisable in the Armory, as seen in the August 2018 build of Zombies. It was removed for unknown reasons. The ]description states, "A powerful weapon from a different time - and universe." Auger DMR · ABR 223 · Swordfish · Essex Model 07 · S6 Stingray · Type 63 · CARV.2 · M1 Garand · SVT-40 · G-43 · M1916In the Foundation series, they use Atom Blasters (shortened to just "blasters" in the later books, after the age of Atom Punk had passed). Tactical: Monkey Bomb · Gersh Device · Matryoshka Doll · Quantum Entanglement Device · Hell's Retriever · G-Strike · Li'l Arnie · Homunculus · Pegasus Strike · Samantha's Music Box Not to be confused with ReiGun, Railgun, the president, Nute Gunray or the Rei or a Rei with a gun. The most common weapon in Valhalla is the microwave gun, which as the name suggests, is a gun that fires microwave beams. Described as having invisible beams and making no sound, this stands as somewhat of a subversion to the common ray gun trope.

The real life story behind the naming of the Porter's X2 Ray Gun is that Treyarch weapon artist, Max Porter, came up with the weapon as a side project. The tie-in Star Fleet Technical Manual actually features a weapon called a 'ray gun', although this is actually a mislabeled prop used in the show as a signal beacon.Compared to previous versions of the Ray Gun, shooting it close to the player now causes a noticable amount of screen shake, and the "splash" effect from shots is more pronounced.
